You know the old saying that goes: “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks!” I guess that now a days, I, as well as some others, would consider myself to be the old dog. I am not complaining and I am not looking for any sympathy. I am not as old as some and I don’t consider getting older a bad thing. In fact, the older I get, the better I get at learning to get the most out of life day by day.
I guess though, if I am an “old dog” that I don’t agree that you can’t teach us “old dogs” some new tricks. The reality is that I am learning new tricks almost everyday! In fact, I am finding that the older I get, the better I am and the more excited I am about learning new tricks.
Don’t let anyone sell you a bill of goods that causes you as you get older to get bitter. Realize that God created you, so that as you get older, you get better if you are loving, trusting and growing in His grace!
Yes I am an old dog and proud of it! I am also learning some new tricks and I can’t wait to show you what I can do! Old or young has more to do with a state of mind than with physical years. Get your spirit right and everything else will follow!
Let God teach you something new – you will be glad that you did!
